Description:
This is a rather large vase, elegantly shaped with two handles and a flared rim, and standing on a ring foot base. The vase is made of buff pottery with black glaze over entire surface. The vessel was delightfully decorated in a central field, showing a deer, or possibly an antelope, running to the right. The animal is surrounded by floral motifs, consisting of an intricate plant behind and rosette at its front. The ground beneath is indicated by a fine dotted line. The neck is adorned by a band of white and yellow darts and dots.

Condition:
Intact with the usual surface wear, a very small dent to the rim and a few small areas of refreshed black, probably over eroded areas or pocks; some root stains on the interior and the underside; else in excellent condition.
